With fewer auspicious wedding dates in July, jewellery sales haven't seen a significant uptick, although some regions experienced sporadic increases during the Rath Yatra festival. Gold prices have risen sharply to around ₹73,000 per 10 gm, up 15% from the beginning of 2024. Jewellers are cautiously optimistic, expecting a potential revival in demand during the upcoming festive season and noting a shift towards investment in gold amid subdued jewellery purchases.

A study by NITI Aayog recommends that the Digi Yatra policy clearly outline rules for deleting passenger information post-travel, amid privacy concerns over user data. The policy states that facial biometrics are deleted 24 hours after the passenger's flight, but deletion rules for other data must be specified. Frequent cybersecurity audits, algorithmic audits, and ongoing monitoring are also advised to ensure data security and system reliability.

Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw announced special arrangements for the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, including 315 special trains for devotees from states like Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jharkhand, covering Odisha. Additionally, the Railway Ministry is establishing a holding area for 15,000 people, complete with toilets and a temporary ticketing center. Vaishnaw emphasized preparations for accommodating 1.5 million devotees. President Draupadi Murmu is also expected to visit. Previously, thousands attended Snana Purnima at the Jagannath Temple, where deities underwent ceremonial baths.
