Strides Pharma Science Ltd on Monday said its arm has received approval from the US health regulator for its generic version of antidepressant Fluoxetine tablets.
The approval granted by the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) to wholly owned subsidiary Strides Pharma Global Pte. Ltd, Singapore, is for Fluoxetine tablets of strength 60 mg, Strides Pharma Science said in a regulatory filing.
The product is bioequivalent and therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug (RLD), Fluoxetine tablets, 60 mg, of TWi Pharmaceuticals, Inc, it added.
The Fluoxetine tablets will be manufactured at the company's facility in Puducherry, Strides said.
With the approval of the Fluoxetine Tabs 60 mg strength, the company is now positioned to offer a complete portfolio of Fluoxetine across capsules and tablets in 10 mg, 20 mg, and 60 mg strengths, it added.

Bharat Biotech on Wednesday announced a collaboration with Alopexx Inc for development and commercialisation of the latter's broad-spectrum anti-microbial vaccine in India and other low income  countries.
As part of the collaboration, the companies will co-develop and commercialise the vaccine -- AV0328, in India and other licensed territories, Bharat Biotech said in a statement.
Alopexx would be entitled to a one-time upfront payment and milestone payments, as well as royalties on future sales of AV0328 in the licensed territories, it added.
"Our goal is to develop solutions to reduce anti-microbial resistance through vaccination. This collaboration aligns with our mission to provide safe, affordable, and high-quality vaccines to combat infectious diseases globally," Bharat Biotech Executive Chairman Krishna Ella said.

Vodafone Idea's recent capital-raise while incrementally positive, may not be adequate to stop the telco's market share erosion, according to a note by Goldman Sachs.
The brokerage has, in fact, anticipated another 300 bps (basis point) share loss for the company over the next 3-4 years, citing the direct correlation between capital expenditure and revenue market share, and given its own expectation of peers spending at least 50 per cent higher capex versus Vodafone Idea.
One basis point is equal to 1/100th of a per cent.
"Vodafone Idea's recent capital raise, while incrementally positive, is unlikely to be adequate to stop the company's market share erosion in our view," it said.

Telecom operator Bharti Airtel on Wednesday said it has deployed more spectrum across all 50 districts in Rajasthan, boosting 5G/4G network capacities to spruce up voice and data connectivity for subscribers in the state.
The deployment will also widen Airtel coverage along highways and rail routes and increase its footprint in rural areas amid an exponential rise in the demand for connectivity.

Debt-ridden Vodafone Idea has reached out to the Department of Telecom to seek waiver on a financial bank guarantee worth Rs 24,747 crore for spectrum payment due in September 2025, according to sources.
Vodafone Idea (VIL) needs to securitize the annual instalment one year before the due date of the payment.
"Vodafone Idea has reached out to DoT seeking waiver for financial bank guarantee (FBG) worth Rs 24,747 crore which it has to pay in September 2025. The FBG needs to be deposited one year before the due date as per spectrum auction rules," a source, who did not wish to be identified, told PTI.
An email query sent to Vodafone Idea elicited no response.
The payments are for frequencies that VIL purchased in auctions that were conducted before 2022. VIL in 2022 opted for a four-year moratorium to pay for the spectrum allowed under a government relief package.

Reliance Jio posted the highest adjusted gross revenue, on the basis of which the government calculates spectrum and licence fee, at Rs 25,330.97 crore while Bharti Airtel saw its AGR grew at sharpest pace in March 2024 quarter, a report by sector regulator Trai said on Thursday.
Reliance Jio's adjusted gross revenue (AGR) grew by 10.21 per cent during the latest January-March quarter from Rs 22,985 crore in the same period a year ago.
Airtel's AGR grew by 13.25 per cent to Rs 20,951.91 crore in the March 2024 quarter from Rs 15,500.36 crore a year ago.
Loss making Vodafone Idea posted a marginal 2.22 per cent year-on-year increase in AGR at Rs 7,370.75 crore from Rs 7,210.63 crore.
State-owned BSNL and MTNL posted declines of 4.41 per cent and 13.78 per cent in AGR to Rs 1991.61 and Rs 156.61 crore, respectively.
