Bharti Airtel is combating the "growing menace" of cyber frauds with network intelligence and Al to analyse patterns and accurately identify spammers, CEO Gopal Vittal said as he asked customers to be vigilant on 'suspected spam' indicator, now available.
The regulator TRAI and the industry have upped the ante to crack down on the spam menace, and the regulator's new missive on whitelisted (approved) URLs has also come into effect from October 1.
An HDFC Bank spokesperson, in response to a specific query, told PTI that the bank is "compliant as of today" with norms, and does not expect any difficulties.
Meanwhile, Vittal penned a note to subscribers promising that Airtel will continue to work on identifying verified scammers and permanently blocking them from its network.
"Our new solution makes us India's 1st Spam Fighting Network and we hope you will feel more confident and secure every time you receive that spam call or message," Vittal told subscribers.

The state-owned NBCC on Tuesday moved the Supreme Court seeking to develop and complete embattled realty major Supertech Limited's 17 stalled or partially built projects where around 27,000 hassled home buyers are stuck for years.
These 17 projects were launched in the National Capital Region, Dehradun and Bengaluru but completion of the residential units was hit due to financial crisis faced by the realty major which led to insolvency proceedings since 2021.
A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Sanjay Kumar was told by advocate ML Lahoty, appearing for the hassled home buyers, that the National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd (NBCC) has come forward with a proposal to complete these stalled projects having around 51,000 residential units.
Senior advocate Gopal Jain, appearing for NBCC, said the public sector undertaking has filed an intervention application in a matter related to insolvency proceedings of Supertech Ltd to develop the stalled project on the lines of Amrapali

Delhi's environment department will organise an 'e-vehicle parade' at Rajghat in early October, aimed at encouraging the purchase and use of electric vehicles (EVs) in the city.
Officials anticipate that over 500 EVs will participate in this event, with a registration link for interested owners to be announced shortly.
A senior official from the environment department said that a tender has been issued for the event, which is expected to cost around Rs 5.76 lakh. Bids will be accepted until September 30, and the parade will be conducted within five days of awarding the tender.
"The primary objective is to promote EV usage in Delhi and raise awareness about their benefits. We encourage as many EV owners as possible to join the parade," an official said.
"Transitioning to electric vehicles will contribute to reducing vehicular pollution in the capital," the official stated.
